Effect of synchronous electromagnetic stirring on Laves phase morphology and mechanical property of Inconel625-HSLA steel functionally graded material fabricated by wire arc additive manufacturing

摘要
Inconel625high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel functionally graded material (FGM) specimens have been fabricated by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) system with synchronous electromagnetic stirring (EMS). The chemical composition distribution has been analyzed to prove the graded transition of the FGMs. Scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were applied to analyze the microstructures of the FGMs. By using EMS, the primary dendrite spacing of FGM is reduced by 22.6%, the size of Laves phases in the FGM has been decreased with from about 2 mu m to less than 100 nm, and the tensile strength along with building direction has been improved from 512 MPa to 563 MPa.
