The impact of knowledge integration on dynamic capabilities and sustainable competitive advantage

Prior theory researches show that dynamic capabilities are the basis for organization to obtain sustainable competitive advantage in dynamic environments, and knowledge integration is the key way to improve organization's dynamic capabilities, however, it lacks empirical evidence. Therefore, we examine the relationships between knowledge integration, dynamic capabilities and sustainable competitive advantage in this paper. The sample of this study has 125 high-tech firms in Pearl River Delta of China. We prove that: (1) Dynamic capabilities have a distinct direct positive impact on organizational sustainable competitive advantage; (2) Knowledge integration has a distinct direct positive impact on organizational dynamic capabilities, and (3) Knowledge integration does not have a distinct direct positive impact on sustainable competitive advantage. The results of this paper are meaningful for us to further understand the relationships between knowledge integration, dynamic capabilities and sustainable competitive advantage.
