摘要
Microstructures of deposited magnesium coating on a magnesium alloy was examined by an atomic force microscope. The coated surface was composed of facetted magnesium particles which were formed as isolated particles on the surface in the early stage of deposition and then grew to cover the surface. Deposited magnesium coating showed superior corrosion resistance to uncoated magnesium alloy. Homogeneous corrosion occurs on the coated surface, while heterogeneous corrosion preferentially occurs on the magnesium alloy.
