摘要
The collisional removal by Xe of several rovibrational levels of deuterated methylidyne in the A(2)Delta and B(2)Sigma(-) states has been studied. The quenching of the CD(A(2)Delta, upsilon = 0) state depends on rotational quantum number: for quantum numbers N' = 4-12 the quenching rates increase from 2.7 X 10(-11) to 4.0 X 10(-11) cm(3) molec(-1) s(-1), remain nearly constant for N' = 12-16 and decrease to 2.3 X 10(-11) cm(3) molec(-l) s(-1) for N' = 20. The A(2)Delta and B(2)Sigma(-) states are quenched at similar rates. The quenching of both states does not depend on vibrational excitation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
