Deposition of TiO2 Nanoparticles Films onto Cotton Fabric Using Dopamine Polymerization

摘要
In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles have been deposited onto cotton fabric through in situ reduction on polydopamine (PDA) templates. The morphology and chemical composition of the TiO2-coated cotton fabrics were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results confirmed the presence and dispersion of TiO2 nanoparticles on the surface of cotton fabrics. The UV protective property of the TiO2-coated cotton fabric was evaluated by the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF). The UPF value of the TiO2-coated cotton fabrics was 127.2 and the value was maintained at 108.8 even after five cycles of laundering, indicating excellent durability of the coating in terms of UV protection property.
