Myriam BARON. The changes in the map of French universities since the 1960s: findings and issues When changes in universities map during the past 5 decades are considered, one can first ask: which geographical level can be retained? who produced and who used such documents? Then, the map of French universities in the beginning of the 34 millennium is sketched: on one hand, the urban hierarchy structuring the academic reality; on the other hand, the regional level revealing remarkable trajectories within the 25 past years. All these characteristics are not only consequences of the last national plan "Universite 2 000" (1990-1995). Regions such as Brittany and Ile-de-France show that political decisions were taken in the beginning of the 1960's. Finally, what about the relations between cartographic productions and town and country planning?
