Ail intuitive formalism is presented for analyzing inter-relationships among perfect Sigma 3 '' misorientations. The formalism is simple, precise, and guaranteed to be a mathematically complete description of the relevant rotation group. Examples are presented to show the advantages of the formalism, both computationally and for clarifying earlier literature results. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
