摘要
Wireless sensor network find promising applications in monitoring physical phenomena of any given system. Mining industry is struggling with issue of fire occurring in the underground coal mine for many years now. This underground fire often results in evacuation of mine personnel, loss of expensive equipment and may even claim lives of mine workers. This work focuses on deriving the contour of fire occurring in an underground bord-and-Pillar coal mine panel. In such applications, network nodes sense the information and transmit it to a controller, where it is processed. This results in heavy network load as a large amount of data is transmitted through the network. In this paper, network nodes can work in collaboration with each other to derive an approximation of mine fire contour without heavy processing at controller, in fully distributed manner. The complexity of the proposed algorithm is O(n * log(2)n).
