Ovarian leiomyoma: a rare disease entity and case report

The presentation of our incidents regarding the surgical treatment of patients with ovarian leiomyoma. Patient postmenopausal age with a known fibroid uterus went to the outpatient clinic for gynecological examination. Clinically established the existence of compact painless pelvic mass, probably originating from the right accessory. The indicators were negative malignancy. By imaging, the clinical diagnosis of the ovarian mass was enhanced and was performed total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral exartimatektomy. Histological examination of the surgical preparation confirmed diagnosis of ovarian leiomyoma. After being hospitalized for 5 days and smooth postoperative course, the patient left our clinic being well. This paper attempts based on current data a brief literature review of this rare disease entity, particularly with respect to diagnostic and therapeutic approach.
