Research on the Application of Backgrounding Explanation Strategy in Journalistic Translation Teaching for English Major

Nowadays, with the frequency of international exchange and cooperation, journalistic translation, as one of the translation forms, plays an important role in the field of publicity. This paper analyzes the resource, development, function of backgrounding, as well as the application of the backgrounding in process of journalistic translation practice, beginning from the view of journalistic translation standards and requirements. The indispensable significance of backgrounding in journalistic translation has been proved in this paper which will provide practical guidance for both the English major students and English instructors.
