摘要
A mammal tooth, identified as belonging to the 'eutriconodontan' family Amphilestidae, is described from the Totternhoe Stone, Grey Chalk, middle Cenomanian of Totternhoe, Bedfordshire. It is the youngest recorded member of the family, previous unequivocal records ranging from the Bathonian (Middle Jurassic) to the Early Cretaceous. A major sea-level fall in the middle Cenomanian is likely to have facilitated transport of the tooth to the relatively shallow, nearshore deposit of the Totternhoe Stone, the animal having lived on an island representing an emergent London-Brabant-Rhenish-Bohemian Massif.
