摘要
This study aimed to investigate microstructural characteristics using XRD and SEM/EDS techniques as well as compressive strength variations of ASTM Class F type fly ash-based geopolymer composites with different curing conditions. In this study, a mixture alkali activating solution consisting of 9M NaOH + 15% sodium silicate was used for fly ash activation. The water to fly ash was fixed at 0.1 in all composite mixtures. The composites were exposed to 20, 30, 60 and 90 degrees C for 48 hours in a room with 90% RH, and thereafter cured in an atmospheric condition for the predetermined periods. Test results confirmed that the compressive strength of the composites was greatly dependent on the curing temperatures. This might be why the Al / Si ratio of products formed in the composites due to the fly ash activation was varied with increasing curing temperature. Subsequently, the geopolymer composites exposed to high temperature showed somewhat denser structures, which was attributed to a more stable cross-linked aluminosilicate network system in this composites.
