U/Th series radionuclides as coastal groundwater tracers

In the study of coastal groundwater, the isotopic systematics of select naturally occurring radionuclides in the U/Th series has proven to be particularly useful. This review describes how the U/Th series of radionuclides can be used as tracers for groundwater along coastal margins. Submarine groundwater discharge tracers including uranium, thorium and radium are described.
