An exploration of composite service execution over P2P network

In this paper, we present important considerations for composite service models and their execution over Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks. Recently, a number of techniques and dynamic system services operate in P2P network environments. However, these techniques hardly consider limited computing resource devices, like printers, speakers, and other digital appliances. Unlike traditional distributed services and transactions, software and hardware environments are quite different in terms of resources. Conducting a composite service with many thin digital devices may need different techniques from traditional ones and will likely require that many difficult technical problems be overcome. We discuss the issues to be studied to archive composite service with thin digital devices over P2P networks in competitive and cooperative environments. We also explore a composite service model and its execution techniques using two case studies: P2P printing and P2P AV services.
