Properties of polyethylsiloxane as a pressure-transmitting medium

摘要
The phase diagram for solidification of polyethylsiloxane (PES-1), which is used as a pressure-transmitting medium, was determined for the first time. The results were obtained using two techniques: by analyzing the changes in the medium thermal expansion coefficient and in its viscosity. Both results qualitatively agree with each other and determine the temperature and pressure ranges within which these parameters must change especially slowly in order to avoid damaging the sample placed inside the chamber.
