摘要
Natural phenomena and the human responsibility in them constitute some of the main concerns at the socio-political and, also, ecclesial level. The article studies the numerous extraordinary natural phenomena found in Matthew's gospel, while analyzing those who are presented by the author as witnesses to these events. The choice of these eyewitnesses and their interpretation of such wonders enable the evangelist to emphasize certain theological aspects, especially Christological ones, which are key to him: Jesus is the Son of God, The God-with-us, the expected Emmanuel. Something that, in turn, contains clear ecclesiological and ethical repercussions.
