摘要：

There are 54 dam projects in the Slovak Republic with a reservoir over I million m(3) of volume. An autonomous system of information and warning of inhabitants, authorities and organisations is being built on the territory potentially endangered by a dam-break wave. It comprises the monitoring system for the supervision of technical safety of structures and the actual accident-warning system. The former gathers the primary information about a possibility of an exceptional situation. The letter assures the monitoring, collection and evaluation of data relevant for the stability of specific structures and in the case of immediate emergency, it activates measures of warning and information.
