摘要
Nano Metal matrix composites (NMMC's) are materials which are light and strong are extensively used in different industrial applications. In this work, zirconium Nano particle were prepared using combustion synthesis method, the prepared Nano particles were then reinforced with A356.1 aluminium alloy at different weight percentages ratios and by using stir-casting technique the Nano composites are being fabricated. Scanning Electron Microscopy was used for the structural characterization, In order to find mechanical properties of the composites, tensile and hardness test was conducted. The microstructural results shows random distribution of Nano-composite. The mechanical results illustrated that the adding 5of zirconium Nano particles can lead to the improvement in yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and hardness. It was analyzed that fabrication process type and size of the particle were the effective factors that influenced the mechanical properties. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
