,An optimisation technique for face milling stainless steel based on the Taguchi method with multiple performance characteristics is proposed in this paper. Three cutting parameters namely, cutting speed, feedrate, and depth of cut, tire optimised with consideration of multiple performance characteristics including removed volume, surface roughness, and burr height. In this study, not only are the multiple performance characteristics improved, but also the optimal cutting parameters and the weighting factor that significantly affect the multiple performance characteristics are obtained. Experimental results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach.
