Combustion synthesis of Eu3+ doped Al4B2O9 phosphor for light emitting diode

摘要
Present paper reports the luminescence characteristics of Al4B2O9:Eu3+ phosphor prepared by simple and inexpensive combustion method. The photoluminescence results revealed two emission peaks, one at 591 nm (D-5(0) -> F-7(1)) and other at 614 nm (D-5(0) -> F-7(2)) in the visible red region under excitation wavelength of 396 nm (F-7(0) -> L-5(6)). The colour coordinates for 591 nm and 614 nm wavelength were found to be (x = 0.580, y = 0.418) and (x = 0.677, y = 0.322) respectively. These results demonstrate the possibility for enhancing the solid state lighting and utilizing the UV source for light emitting diode (LED). (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
