摘要
The thermodynamic properties of the spinless Falicov-Kimball model are studied using Monte Carlo simulation technique. It is observed that first order (discontinuous) metal-insulator transition at T=0, smears at finite temperatures. The transition width increases with temperature. Two-peak structure is observed in specific heat for certain f-electron energy level (E-f). Sudden enhancement in specific heat coefficient is observed at smaller temperature for some values of E-f.
