A model of massively parallel call and service processing in telecommunications

In this paper telecommunication networks are considered as parallel call and service processing systems where the parallelism can be expressed as a simultaneous handling of calls and services and as an inherent parallelism within the call and service processes, A model of massively processing proposed in this paper combines computational and stochastic characteristics of these processes. A granularity based on a hierarchy call - processing request - elementary task determines their computational properties. Stochastics is described by using probability functions for a request arrival characteristics and a number of elementary tasks per request. A response time, as a basic parameter describing the model, is evaluated using a simulation method which includes a genetic algorithm.
