摘要
While physical systems modeling by means of bond graphs is coming into age after bond graphs were invented by H. Paynter more than 35 years ago, along with an increase of model complexity another so-called object oriented modeling formalism has become more and more popular throughout the last years. It seems that due to different roots and a different terminology aspects of one of the two approaches are not fully appreciated by those who adhere to the other modeling paradigm. By relating features of object-oriented modeling to corresponding ones of the older bond graph methodology the paper aims at pointing out what both modeling approaches have in common and what is different. In particular some aspects of describing bond graphs by means of an object-oriented modeling language are discussed. For the purpose of illustration Dymola as a representative of a class of object-oriented modeling languages is used and an application example of a hydraulic drive system is considered.
