摘要：

China is a beautiful country with hundreds of thousands of mountains spreading over the country. Reasonable development and utilization of mountain resources and effective protection and improvement of the environment will play an important role in the realization of national sustainable development strategy. Increasing population puts pressure on natural resources leading to over exploitation and unsustainable development. Mountain areas being sensitive and fragile face more threat than the areas in the plains. In the field of regional development, support specifically directed to mountains is missing. The absence of a sustainable development strategy directed to mountain areas is an obstacle to the sustainable development of China.
