Polarization Decoupling for Oblique Scattering by Penetrable Cylinders of Arbitrary Cross Section

摘要
A plane electromagnetic wave is incident on an infinitely long cylinder of arbitrary cross-sectional shape, made of penetrable material characterized by scalar permittivity and permeability. It is shown that with the exception of a planar interface, polarization decoupling may occur only if the cylinder is either isorefractive or antiisorefractive to the surrounding medium.
