Renal lymphangioma manifested as a solid mass on ultrasonography and computed tomography

Lymphangioma is a rare benign tumor caused by failure in the development of the lymphatic communicating system.(1) Although this disease may occur in any site of the body, the neck (75%) and axillary area (20%) are the most common sites, and the kidney is occasionally involved.(2) Renal lymphangioma has been reported to appear as a multilocular cystic mass on ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging; it simulates other renal cystic neoplasms such as multilocular cystic renal cell carcinoma, cystic Wilms tumor, multilocular cystic nephroma, and mesoblastic nephroma.(3,4) In this report, we describe a rare manifestation of renal lymphangioma as a solid mass on ultrasonography and CT.
