Systems of Justice in the areas of Northern Ural in the XVI-XVII centuries

In XVI-XVII centuries the judicial and legal policy of the Russian Supreme power was directed on successful adaptation and integration of areas of Northern Ural - the Vyatka earth, Vychegodskaya Perm and Perm the Great, Pechora, in structure of the state. From the moment of accession of Northern Ural areas to Russia their population was in special jurisdiction of the central courts, from the end of the XVI century - the Novgorodskaya chetvert'. In areas of Northern Ural limited, but constantly there were direct representatives of the Supreme power - namestniki, prikaznye lyudi, voevody who were carrying out functions of justice and control over activity of public administration bodies. Officials of public administration - gorodovye prikazchiki, zemskie starosty, sud'i i sudeyki, tseloval'niki - participated in activities for implementation of justice according to the local legal traditions authorized by the Supreme power.
