- [47] We've had a few patients undergoing induced hypothermia (post-cardiac arrest) placed on amiodarone drips. Blood pressure in these patients tends to drop more significantly than in normothermic patients. Since we've only had a few patients on amiodarone while hypothermic, I don't have enough data to claim a trend, but I am concerned there may be increased potency of the drug during hypothermia. Has anyone noticed any trends with amiodarone in the post-cardiac arrest patient undergoing induced hypothermia? Is there a dosing recommendation?
