摘要
The important aspect of laboratory fish aquaculture is the feed supply for fry. Culture and rearing of fish requires plankton animals that significantly influence commercial production. Especially rotifers (Rotifera) play important role in initial feeding of fish. Here we review scientific publications dealing with the production of rotifers and evaluate the number of publication and their research field. For this purpose, keywords associated with rotifers were chosen and the search was conducted on the Web of Science. Based on obtained data, we conclude that various species of seawater rotifers are already commonly used in fish culture and scientific information are available while freshwater rotifers are not commonly used and the amount of available scientific information is limited despite its discussed potential.
