Domain ontologies gain its popularity due to ability 1) to implement reuse on knowledge level; and 2) to enhance information retrieval processes. Our research is oriented towards application of ontology in the e-Learning domain. In this paper we analyse the concept, possibilities, types and implementations of reasoning over ontology. Then we propose the framework for conceptual linking of educational resources, based on reasoning over domain ontology. We use our earlier proposed architecture of the e-Learning system, where domain and media spaces are separated. In a case study we demonstrate the application of the proposed framework by the means of designed scenario considering real domain ontology for E-Learning Technologies distance study course and concrete pedagogical goals in mind. As the main goal for designing scenario we choose metacognitive support during browsing, because it correlates well with modern didactic strategies.
