This study describes three new genera and three new species of Isoptera described from the Santana Formation (Lower Cretaceous, northeast Brazil): Caatingatermes megacephalus new gennus and new species, Araripetermes nativa new genus and new species., representing the new subfamily Caatingatermitinae, and Nordestinatermes obesa new gennus and new species (Hodotermitinae). Meiatermes araripena Krishna described from the same sediments is transferred to the new genus Nordestinatermes proposed here, consisting the new combination Nordestinatermes araripena.
