摘要
Smoking tobacco products in Poland and in the world is a significant epidemiological and health problem. Leading to addiction to nicotine, smokers absorb many toxic and carcinogenic substances and suffer from a number of tobacco-related diseases that often require complex medical interventions. Due to the nature of the addiction, smoking cessation is difficult. On the pharmaceutical market in Poland are present pharmaceutical products that can help in the fight against nicotine addiction. These products contain as active substances nicotine, cytisine, varenicline or bupropion. The review aims to discuss current state of knowledge on nicotine addiction in Poland, present active substance that can help against nicotine addiction and present their clinical efficacy and safety.
