European Level of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Strategy of Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development was adopted by General Assembly of the United Nations in 2015 for period of further 15 years. It is a legally not-binding document that as adopted by every member state of the UN, makes the member states reflect its fulfilment in their national priorities and policies. The European Union has helped to create this agenda and has also adopted it to the development policies for further years. This paper aims to provide theoretical framework of process of creation of this important strategy, and its further adoption on the level of the European Union. Another part of the paper states possible prognosis of development of goals of sustainable development on the European Union's level in the future. This analytical research will be determined by methods of the European Statistical Office and also by own analysis of possible progress to be reached until 2030. This paper will result to state possible rate (%) of progress of the EU to reach particular goals of Agenda 2030, as well as to theoretical grounds of a concept of sustainable development in environment of the EU. This paper is part of Project VEGA No. 1/0302/18 "Smart cities as a Possibility for Implementing the Concept of Sustainable Urban Development in the Slovak Republic".
