摘要
A simple and efficient technique to achieve stable multiwave-length laser operation at room temperatures with the use of an elliptical-core erbium-doped fiber is proposed and demonstrated. The results give a maximum of five simultaneous laser lines in the L band. A polarization controller is used to control and select the lines. The principle of operation is based on the anisotropic gain effect in a polarization-maintaining fiber, (C) 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
