Intramolecular mobility and intramolecular interactions in heteropolymers in solution

Structuration in solutions of N-vinylpyrrolidone-based heteropolymers containing functional groups that are capable of forming intramolecular contacts was studied by polarized luminescence. For copolymers of N-vinylpyrrolidone with unsaturated carboxylic acids as an example, the effect of the distribution of proton-donating carboxylic acid groups on the formation of the internal structure of macromolecules by intrachain hydrogen bonding was demonstrated. For heteropolymers containing long alkyl radicals and cationic groups in the side chains, the important role of hydrophobic interactions on the molecular mobility of macromolecules in solution was established.
