The present paper describes the application of a shape memory allo v in the construction of an orthopedic implant. The main theme of this paper is the design of modular adaptive implants for fractured bones. After a particular stage of the healing period has passed, using implant modularity, the load is gradually transferred to bone, assuring in this manner a gradual recovery of bone function. The adaptabilily of this design allows the doctor to make the implant to correspond to the specific anatomy, of the patient. Using 3D virtual models of the forearm bones (radius and ulna), we have undergone the mechanical simulation of different types of loading on the bones.
