摘要
Radiofrequency identification (RFID) applications with large tag populations often require the fast identification of the tags present. Conventional RFID systems using framed ALOHA based medium access control algorithms waste bandwidth during the singulation process when tag replies collide on the shared wireless channel. In this paper, we investigate how code division multiplexing techniques can be used to decode tag replies in such collisions. Our analysis focusses on the choice of code set and detector for use in a spread spectrum RFID system. The paper also presents a method to estimate the number of tags in the range of such a spread spectrum RFID system.
