摘要：
The aim of this research is to address issues with the child vaccination record systems in Africa. We have devised the "Aesthetic, Expressive, and Functional Tattoos" concept from a design that reflects traditional African cultural backgrounds. The tattoo is designed to integrate with the health service system, providing human-readable child vaccination record information to family and health workers. Tattoos have formed part of tribal culture in Africa for thousands of years. Our design builds on this culture with a new ritual for recording vaccination records in Tattoo form. Our design consists of two artifacts: Firstly, a design for a tattoo which can encode basic child vaccination records. Secondly, a guide book which assists with interpreting the tattoo. Further work could include integrating machine-readable data into the tattoo system.
