Mobile Enabled Content Adaptation System for PDF Documents

The unrivalled proliferation of mobile handheld devices demand the usage of content adaptation. In spite of the generic advantages of mobile devices, their inherent drawbacks encompass small screen size, limited computational power etc. The modification of web contents like websites, web-documents must be directed in such a way that they can easily be displayed on a mobile screen, optimising the use of mobile resources. Content adaptation plays an important role to enable contemporary students, who use mobile devices as an integral part of their learning process, to optimally utilise the available materials. The major interruption for such a learning process includes downloading multi-page question papers and being forced to scroll through the questions due to the small screen size. Our approach addresses this problem and aims at developing a content adaptation component which displays the entire question paper in one screen, outlined by the question numbers. This eliminates the download time and minimises scrolling, thus aiding uninterrupted and convenient learning.
