Copper Oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were synthesized via simple hydrothermal method without any surfactant. Crystallographic studies of CuO nanoparticles were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, which confirmed the single phase monoclinic structure with space group C2/c. The average crystallite size of CuO nanoparticles were deliberated via Scherrer's formula as 20nm corresponding to the major peak. The vibrational atom modes of CuO nanoparticles were recorded using Fourier Transform-Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The FT-IR spectra confirmed the appearance of Cu-O stretching vibration modes. The CuO nanoparticles shape and elemental analysis were inspected by HR-scanning electron microscopy (HRSEM). The dielectric constant, tangent loss and AC conductivity properties of as prepared CuO nanoparticles were investigated for the frequency range 50Hz-5 MHz at different temperatures. The value of dielectric constant and dielectric loss decreases with increase in the frequency of the applied signal. (c) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
