摘要：

The following five papers illustrate some of the latest research in a number of important areas where nutrition may have a significant impact on equine medicine. These papers include the subjects of nutritional risk factors for laminitis and the treatment of obesity in ponies, the role of nutritional factors in the pathogenesis of intestinal disease and neuronal disease, and parenteral nutrition in foals. They illustrate sonic basic principles of nutrition as well as the importance of research in developing evidence-based medicine and how nutrition may play a key role in the pathogenesis of several common clinical diseases.
