Halogenation of β-Positions in Co(II)-Tetraphenylporphyrins

摘要
Bromination and chlorination reactions of Co(II)-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrins with N-bromosuccinimide and N-chlorosuccinimide in a mixture of chloroform - dimethylformamide were studied. beta-octabromoand octachlorosubstituted Co(II) and Co(III) porphyrins were synthesized. When cobalt porphyrins are treated with a mixture of chloric and sulfuric acids, the corresponding metal free porphyrins are formed. Halogen substituted Zn(II) porphyrins were obtained by reaction of 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octabromo-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin and 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octachloro-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin with Zn(II) acetate in dimethylformamide. The synthesized compounds were identified by electronic absorption, NMR H-1 spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
