Fabrication and characterization of TiCw/MoSi2 and SiCw/MoSi2 composites

摘要
A 20-vol.% TiC whisker-reinforced MoSi2 matrix composite was fabricated by hot-pressed sintering. The effects of TiC whisker on mechanical properties at room temperature, bending yield strength at 1200 degreesC and wear resistance against Al2O3 material were investigated. The experimental results of 20-vol.% TiCw/MoSi2 composite were compared with 20-vol.% SiCw/MoSi2. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
