The blue cooperative up-conversion luminescence in Ca9Yb[VO4]7 ceramic

摘要
Yb3+ stoichiometric ceramic sample Ca9Yb(VO4)(7) was synthesized by the conventional high-temperature solid state reaction. The emission spectra and decay curves of both the near-infrared emission and the cooperative luminescence were measured. The sample presents the bright blue cooperative up-conversion luminescence centered at 480 nm under the excitation of a 976 nm laser diode (LD) at room temperature. The blue emission mechanism was discussed on the pump-power dependent emission intensity and the luminescence lifetimes. The up-conversion is assigned to cooperative de-excitation of Yb3+-Yb3+ pairs.
