摘要：

The development of rural areas is one of the strategic directions of Russian policy, but it has not produced any particular improvement. The authors of the article identify problems and characteristics of modern management of sustainable development in rural areas of Russia. The article presents key elements of the management system for the sustainable development of rural areas and identifies the main problems in its operation. The results made it possible to formulate a series of measures to improve the current situation, as well as the fact that the problems raised can be solved by applying an integrated approach. This article identifies the challenges and directions to improve the management of sustainable development of rural areas in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
