Observation of two-dimensional exciton-phonon quasibound states

摘要
We demonstrate the existence of robust exciton-phonon quasibound states (EPQBS) in a two-dimensional semiconductor system, resulting from the binding of the e(1)h(1) and e(1)h(2) heavy-hole quantum-well excitons with an LO phonon, We show that increasing quantum confinement drastically weakens these two-dimensional EPQBS. A theoretical model including phonon confinement accounts qualitatively for our results, [S0163-1829(97)50140-8].
