Influence of Activating Agent on the Performance of Waste Crumb Rubber Modified Asphalt

摘要
Waste crumb rubber (WCR) was activated by using waste engine oil (WEO) and two different peptizers compounded WEO at different dosages respectively, and five kinds of high dosage activated crumb rubber modified asphalt (A-CRMA) were prepared. The activation mechanism of WEO and peptizer to WCR in the modified asphalt was analyzed by comparing performance indexes of different A-CRMA. The research results show that, the dosage of WEO has significant impact on the performance of A-CRMA, and the selection of the optimal dosage of WEO needs to ensure full swelling of WCR without excessive oil to dilute asphalt and decrease the performance of A-CRMA. The adoption of peptizer SA compounded WEO for activation of WCR can reduce the dosage of WEO, increase the softening point and elastic recovery, and decrease the viscosity of A-CRMA.
