Continuing Medical Education (CME) is becoming to be an important part of professional conduct of neurosurgeons in the member countries of EANS. It is therefore a task for the EANS to harmonise various systems of CME and to offer a compatible programme of continuing education that would meet the expectations and needs of the neurosurgeons. It should help choose fields in which updating knowledge is indispensable, offer teaching and training opportunities and provide systems of evaluation and certification of progress in neurosurgical CME.
