摘要
Encapsulations of selected model organic compounds in the well-defined cavities of beta-cyclodextrin and polyethyleneglycol (PEG-6000) were investigated systematically. Benzoic acid, benzoin and benzil were selected as the model guest systems. The guest systems were encapsulated in the cavities of host molecules under suitable conditions. The host-guest complexes were characterized by chemical and spectral analysis. The infrared and NMR data of these systems are discussed in detail. The surface modification of the host during encapsulation was investigated with the help of scanning electron microscopy. The rate of release of guest molecules from the cavities of host systems was studied with the help of beta-CD-benzoic acid complex. These results are summarized and discussed in detail.
