摘要
This report was prepared by the leaders representing the National Alaska Native American Indian Nurses Association, which was established to advocate for improved health care services among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) peoples throughout the United States and to foster the development of AI/AN nurses. Effective prevention of conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and infectious diseases must use cooperative approaches that capitalize on AI/AN leadership. Although all nurses benefit from learning cultural competence, program effectiveness for AI/ANs will be magnified through involvement of native nurses.
